Deep Red

2h 7m Horror, Cult 1975

Two innocents are pulled into a web of mystery after the brutal murder of a psychic.

Along with the original SUSPIRIA, this is the defining work of master horror auteur Dario Argento. A psychic who can read minds picks up the thoughts of a murderer in the audience and soon becomes a victim. An English pianist gets involved in solving the murders, but finds many of his avenues of inquiry cut off by new murders, and he begins to wonder how the murderer can track his movements so closely.

“Operating under the principle that a moving camera is always better than a static one, and not above throwing in a terrifying evil doll, DEEP RED showcases the technical bravado and loopy shock tactics that made Argento famous.” - Keith Phipps, AV Club
