Plus Post-Film Q&A Video hosted by Polygon’s Charlie Hall with Josh Tsui, Ernest Cline, Robotron and Defender creator Eugene Jarvis and NBA Jam co-creator Mark Turmell!
INSERT COIN is documentary focused on the history of Midway Games, a ragtag team of game developers with a simple punk-rock design mantra: “There are no rules.” Director Joshua Tsui’s Insert Coin takes viewers on a raucous ride with the studio’s iconoclastic designers led by Eugene Jarvis as they introduced the world to industry-defining games such as NARC, Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam that earned over a billion dollars at the arcade and remain pop culture touchstones to this day!
Through intimate and hilarious interviews with the people who were there plus behind-the scenes footage, we witness how a small, tight-knit group of friends deal with next level success and the roller coaster ride that comes with it.
*Post-Film Q&A has been pre-recorded.**
