A riff commentary on the most dangerous movie ever made.
You’ve seen them on the covers of such prestigious magazines as Skymall, Cat Fancy and Limousine Digest – now Austin movie riffers Master Pancake Theater are debuting their very first home video release, the 1981 cult classic ROAR, starring Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith.
“In many ways, ROAR is like the movie BORN FREE, but instead of just one lion, there are dozens of lions and tigers, and none of them have been trained in any way and are constantly jumping on members of the cast and making you feel nervous for their safety as they bravely try to say their lines. There’s a lot of big cats with big personalities. It’s a very Jellicle experience. It’s like BORN FREE with an edge. I call it HARDCORE BORN.” – John Erler, Master Pancake Theater
Join Master Pancake comedians John Erler, Ralphie Hardesty, and John W. Smith for a Mystery Science Theater-style comedic commentary looking inside what’s (justifiably) been called “the most dangerous movie ever made.” No animals were harmed during the making of the film, but seventy members of the cast and crew were. Master Pancake’s skewering takes the form of an overlaid audio track, highlighting the weird and wonderfully odd elements in this one-of-a-kind motion picture.
